Adjustable Focus — Why It Matters

Most landscape spotlights are fixed-focus — what you see when you install it is what you get permanently. The C4573's adjustable focus lets you fine-tune the beam after the fixture is in the ground and the light is on.

Ground installation: Push the included ground spike into the soil to position the fixture. The head rotates and tilts to direct the beam precisely. Ideal for uplighting trees, shrubs, statues, and garden features.

Stake depth: Push the spike firmly until the fixture base is near ground level. In loose or sandy soil, compact the area around the spike for a more stable installation.

Wiring: Connect the lead wire to your low voltage landscape lighting system using waterproof snap connectors (sold separately). No electrician required.

Choosing the Right MR16 Bulb


The C4573 accepts any standard 12V MR16 GU5.3 bulb.


Recommended options:


For accent lighting (trees, columns, statues):
Use a narrow-beam MR16 (24° or 36°) for a focused, dramatic effect.

For wash lighting (walls, hedges, larger features):
Use a wide-beam MR16 (60°) for broader, softer coverage.

Wattage: 5W LED is sufficient for most residential applications. Higher wattage (7W–10W) for larger trees or longer throw distances.

Color temperature: 2700K warm white for a natural, inviting look. 4000K cool white for a more modern, high-contrast effect.

Compatible Transformers


The C4573 works with all Lightkiwi 12V low voltage transformers. With a 5W MR16 LED, each spotlight draws 5W. A 150W transformer (120W usable) can power up to 24 spotlights. Most residential installs use 4–8 spotlights per zone.

Can I install this myself?

How do I adjust the focus?
The lamp housing rotates and tilts within the fixture body. With the light on, loosen the adjustment collar, reposition the head to your desired angle and beam direction, then secure in place. Fine adjustments can be made at any time.

How deep should I push the spike?
Push the spike until the fixture base is near ground level and the fixture feels stable. In softer soils, compact the ground around the spike or use a landscape anchor for added stability.

Can I use halogen bulbs instead of LED?
Yes. The C4573 accepts both MR16 LED and halogen bulbs. LED is strongly recommended — significantly lower power draw, less heat, and longer lifespan. Halogen MR16s run much hotter and consume 2–4x more power for the same light output.
